A Penny Of My Thoughts

This week I have mostly been;

  1. In Switzerland where it is as you’d expect a cross between France and Germany. That means you get the best of both worlds (e.g. ten choices of meat at breakfast and ruthlessly efficient trains) and the worst (e.g. snotty, stuck up waitresses and bars in which you can smoke).

  2. Spending time in Habitat. It’s a nice shop and one of their helpers who was dressed as a poor man’s Santa gave me a mince pie and a beer but I worry about their deliberate move towards weird, funky children’s toys. It has the suspicious undertones of Happy Meals.

  3. Looking forward to seeing the Arctic Monkeys. I certainly missed the boat (they were very 2006) on this one and it’s probably not very cool to be excited by the chance of seeing younger more talented people but I actually look forward to seeing a band that can play. I mean really play.

  4. Worrying about how the world is going to end. I partly blame the fact that season 2 of Heroes ended this week but also the sheer variety of killer bug – mega wave – global warming – melting polar bear stories that continually fill the pages of Metro every morning. It all starts to add up after a while.

  5. Yelling at Royal Mail. They are buffoons and should not be trusted. Not ever.
